Smith & Wesson M&P 45

This M&P 45 ships with two 10 round magazines. Other S&W M&Ps ship with different magazine options

The S&W M&P come with a storage box, with foam cut out for the pistol and two magazines and the extra backstraps. They also come with two extra backstraps in other sizes, two magazines, user manual, gun lock and a spent shell

To change the backstrap, first remove the magazine and make sure the pistol is not loaded

Once the M&P is unloaded twist the part at the bottom of the magazine well 90 degrees. This will unlock it and let it come out and release the backstrap. The backstrap can now pivot out of the frame

They look similar but many things set these two Double Action Only (DAO) polymer pistols apart The XD has a grip safety, the M&P has an external ambidextrous 1911 style safety at the rear of the slide

These two are about the same width and overall size but their grips are different so they feel much different in the hand. While the sights are not the same they look and work pretty much the same. The XD45 has it's standard sights, the S&W M&P45 has Trijicon night sights

The S&W M&P45 and XD45 both shoot .45acp this Glock shoots .40s&w. Under Ultra Violet (UV) light the two Dark Earth colored guns react the same with no reaction, while the OD Green Glock looks blue

The Springfield XD45 weighs one pound 13.8 ounces (empty) the loaded 13 round magazine weighs 9.5 ounces (6.5 empty)

Ten rounds of .45acp Hollow Point ammunition weighs about 6 ounces

This .40s&w Glock 35 weighs one pound 11.5 ounces (empty) and it's loaded magazine weighs 7.9 ounces
