IMO if you are going to the range with it a tuarus is fine, but if it is to carry as CCW, I would get another brand

I would like to take exception with Jeep Pros advise on the Taurus 1911. I started the Police Academy with a 4 inch Taurus .38 in 1980. Thru the years I moved to the 4 inch .357 then the 9mm. I traded my Sig .45 for a Taurus 1911 in 09.( I dont like Sig Mags) I have always found the Taurus Weapons to be of fine quality and extremely dependable. A 2 inch .38 Taurus Snubbie saved my big rear in 82. and took out the bad guy very effectively. Today Most Cops carry a Glock .40( I do when working for one Agency) I own them in 9mm ( 17 ).40 Cal ( 22 )and.45( 21 ) I also have a kimber .45 which is a fine weapon. As well as a Springfield .45 ( also a fine weapon) However I have staked my Life on a Taurus in the past and have NEVER had a malfunction or mis-fire. Is it a good range gun...Certainly. But it is also an OUTSTANDING and dependable weapon for Duty or self defense.

If I ever get short of cash I promise you the Kimber or the Springfield would go before ANY of the Tauruses. By the way I still do my In-Service with ..guess what... A Taurus. I consistantly shoot above 92. I will never shoot better that that in any case.Just my personal choice of
course.

Food for thought though. The weapon is only as good as its handler.

Happy New Year.
Ron
